The Centre for Theology, Science and Culture (CTSC) is a research institute established by the Flinders University School of Theology and the Adelaide College of Divinity (ACD) to focus on research that relates theology, science and culture. The CTSC is based at the ACD campus at Brooklyn Park. There are a number of researchers within the school and the college who are researching and publishing in this area and already a number of challenging research projects are underway.

Purposes
The main purposes of the institute are:

  • to provide a focus for collaborative and individual basic, applied and contract research, such that the Flinders School of Theology and the Adelaide College of Divinity can make a significant contribution to the discovery and interpretation of new knowledge and the revision and interpretation of existing knowledge in the field of theology as it relates to science and culture;
  • to provide impetus for quality research, teaching, postgraduate supervision and consultative services within the school and the college;
  • to stimulate a lively interaction with the industry (that is, the churches and other religious organisations) that the school and the college serve;
  • to engage proactively with a range of community and societal groups outside the school and the college to ensure an appropriate contextualisation of teaching and research.
