Patricia O'Grady was a teacher/libarian in Government primary schools until her retirement after which she was able to study philosophy full time. She was awarded a PhD in 1998 for a thesis on Thales of Miletus. She has been a Visiting Scholar in Philosophy since 1998.

Primary Research Interests: include the Pre-Socratics. She is presently researching Hippias of Elis, and women philosophers of ancient times. She is writing an historical novel on Pythagoras, aimed at young readers.
