Research - Postgraduate Study
Legal Studies offers the postgraduate degrees of Doctor of Philosophy
(PhD) and Master of Arts (MA) by thesis. Students are able to undertake research
in a wide range of areas that relate to law, subject to the availability
of a supervisor on the staff of Legal Studies.
The PhD thesis of 80,000-100,000 words normally requires three to four
years full-time study or an equivalent period of part-time study.
The MA, which requires the completion of a 40,000-60,000 word thesis,
involves two years full-time study, or an equivalent period of part-time
study.
Further information is available from Francis Regan who is the Graduate Studies Coordinator.
