Introduction

Legal Studies offers the only university course in Legal Studies in South Australia. Our first students graduated in 1993 and our Honours program began in 1994. Apart from those students who are based in Legal Studies, students also take some of our topics as part of many other courses in the university.

In Legal Studies at Flinders, we believe that knowledge about law should not be restricted to lawyers. Legal Studies students study law, legal phenomena, legal policies and practices, all within their broader social, historical and philosophical contexts.
