Judith Bannister BA (SAIT), LLB (Hons)(Adel), PhD (ANU)

Judith graduated from the Adelaide Law School and was admitted to practise as a solicitor in New South Wales in 1993. After admission, she was a legal officer and consultant with the Australian Copyright Council and a solicitor with a Sydney firm in personal injury litigation. Before joining Flinders Law School in 1998 Judith taught at the University of Western Sydney, Nepean. She was also a law librarian for many years. Judith teaches Intellectual Property, Administrative Law and Legal Method. Her research interests lie in intellectual property, specifically copyright, and the regulation of information access. She recently completed a PhD at the Australian National University in the field of information law entitled: 'Secret business and business secrets: The Hindmarsh Island Bridge affair, Information Law and the Public Sphere'.
Visiting Scholar
In August 2007 Judith was a visiting scholar at the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, University of Louisville where she presented a seminar on racial vilification.
