Heather has taught law at Monash, Adelaide and Keele Universities, and the University of Papua New Guinea. Before joining the Law School in 1998, she taught Aboriginal Studies at the University of Tasmania. Her major area of research is in Indigenous legal issues, and she has co-authored Indigenous Legal Issues (3rd ed, Law Book Co, 2003). At Flinders she teaches Indigenous Australians and the Law, Family Law, and Criminal Law.
