Franca joined the School of Law in January 2002 after working as a law lecturer in the School of Commerce for nine years and in private practice as a barrister and solicitor. Her major research interests lie in the area of Dispute Management. She is currently teaching Dispute Management and Introduction to Law.
Franca is a member of the national accreditation committee of LEADR, an internationally recognised dispute resolution organisation and a member of various mediator and conciliator panels for a range of government and industry organisations. She is a Regional Advisor to the Australian Public Service Commission (SA and NT), a legal member of the Drug Assessment and Aid Panel and a Senior Case Officer for the Child Support Agency. Franca is very interested in mediation standards and the way in which mediation services are set up and evaluated. She is also interested in how alternative methods for resolving disputes have been incorporated into our court system.
