Andrew Alston, formerly Associate Professor of Law at the University of Canterbury, teaches "Lawyering: Procedures and Ethics" and "Law and Medicine" in the Law School and a postgraduate course in "Health Services Law" in the School of Medicine. He has taught courses in both Australia and New Zealand on law and medicine, property law, taxation law, equity and succession and has published extensively in all these fields. His publications include the 5th edition of Garrow and Alston's Law of Wills and Administration, Residential Tenancies (now in its third edition), Brookers' Land Law (with others), Guide to New Zealand Land Law (with others) and Medical Practice Management (with others).
