A New Queen and Treaty:In February 2003, Queen Pertiofony died of a rare heart disease. Her daughter Serinota Gestober was crowned queen. Soon after receiving the crown, Queen Serinota announced that she planned to visit Outer Gesnalt to re-write the peace treaty. Serinota was born after the conflicts of 1988, so she felt considerably less spiteful towards her neighbor than her mother did and she believed that the existing peace treaty was out of date, racist and un-fair. |

In April 2003, Queen Serinota, accompanied by her knights, opened the door in the wall and traversed the room in which her mother had signed the old peace treaty. She opened the door on the other side of the room and stepped into Outer Gesnalt bearing a flag of peace. She found the land to be mostly barren and uninhabited, except for a few bedraggled sky-rise buildings next to huge factory that was billowing out black smoke. The palace that King Gestober had built as his summer house was still standing, so the Queen and her knights moved toward it, under the suspicious gaze of a few old Ponerinae workers who were walking home. She
reached the palace and requested a meeting with the king. However, the
king no longer inhabited Outer Gesnalt as he had moved back to Old Gesnalt
and established himself as king there. He had moved away soon after the
establishment of the peace treaty. King Tubalo had left his son Prince
Nuplat Mudupu as governor of Outer Gesnalt and it was Prince Nuplat that
Queen Serinota was brought before. |

The Royal Marriage:Prince
Nuplat was a striking young ant and the young Queen fell hopelessly in
love with him. They were married three months later, in July 2003, surprisingly
with the blessing of both kingdoms. The ceremony took place in the room
in the wall, and from that day forward, the doors were removed and citizens
from both kingdoms were allowed to traverse freely between Hersta and
Outer Gesnalt. |

The United Kingdom:The new treaty that Queen Serinota had envisaged was sealed in blood. At the birth of the Queen and Prince’s first son Jusiret, which in both Formicinaen and Ponerinaen means ‘together again’, King Tubalo handed over Outer Gesnalt to Prince Nuplat. In May 2004, Outer Gesnalt and Hersta united once again under the banner of The United Kingdom of Humalawnaria. There is still a degree of tension between the Formicinae and the Ponerinae ants, but the Queen and King have introduced racial awareness programs in all of the schools in the Kingdom, so future generations will prosper in harmony with each other. In June 2004, the King and Queen decreed that the wall should stay in place as a reminder of and a memorial to the many thousands of people that died as a result of racial division. This
