Faculty Committee on Teaching and Learning

TERMS OF REFERENCE
To be responsible to the Faculty Board and/or the Executive Dean, as appropriate, for the following:

• To provide advice to the Faculty Board on teaching and learning policy matters;
• To coordinate matters relating to general issues of teaching, learning, assessment and compliance with Education and Research Policy guidelines and key accountability measures with respect to teaching and learning;
• To act as a channel of communication between the Faculty and the Education Matters Advisory Group (EMAG);
• To operate, with the Faculty Coordinator for Flexible Delivery and Information Technology, as a quality assurer for flexible delivery and information technology;
• To encourage staff to apply for teaching grants and awards for excellence in teaching and to provide input into staff development programs organisation;
• To coordinate matters of student workload, transition to university, teaching, learning and assessment within the Faculty;
• To monitor the outcome of annual and five-yearly course reviews;
• To approve new and significant changes to topics and courses offered by the Faculty;
• To undertake other tasks as requested by the Executive Dean or Faculty Board.
