Student Progress Committee

The Student Progress Committee oversees the Faculty’s students who have been asked to show cause under the provisions of Clause 6.2 of the Policy on Student Progress by the  Faculty Examinations Boards. The Student Progress Committee has been given this responsibility by the Faculty Board. The Committee is comprised of representatives from across the Faculty’s Schools and Departments and an undergraduate student representative.

TERMS OF REFERENCE
The Student Progress Committee of the Faculty considers the cases of all students who have been identified via reports from the Student System. The students are asked to show cause, in accordance with the University Policy on Student Progress, and the relevant course rules, by the following Faculty Examinations Boards:

  • Examinations Board on Undergraduate Programmes in Education;
  • Examinations Board on Postgraduate Coursework Programmes in Education;
  • School of Law Examinations Board;
  • School of Theology Examinations Board.

The Student Progress Committee will consider applications for re-admission to all coursework programmes offered by the Faculty, other than the BA, in respect to Clause 7 of the Policy on Student Progress.

MEMBERSHIP
No less than two academic staff members of the Faculty and a student member, who will normally be from the Faculty.  The academic staff members will be appointed by the Faculty Executive Dean (or delegate) and will include at least one member who is an Associate Professor/Reader or a Professor.  A Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Committee will be appointed by the Faculty Executive Dean (or delegate) from amongst the academic staff members. The student member will be appointed by the Faculty Executive Dean (or delegate) in consultation with the President of the Flinders Campus Community Services Student Council. Alternatives for each of the staff and student members of the Committee will be appointed by the Faculty Executive Dean (or delegate). An alternate will sit on the Committee as a full member when the respective member is unavailable.

QUORUM
