Welcome to the Second Conference on the Impact of Italians in South Australia

The Second Conference on the Impact of Italians in South Australia is being held on the evening of Friday 10 October 2003 (6.00 pm to 9.30 pm) and all day (8.30 am to 5.00 pm) on Saturday 11 October 2003. The conference will take place at the SAIA-Italian Centre, 262 Carrington Street, Adelaide.

SAIA-Italian Centre acknowledges the support of the South Australian Government.

The keynote address will be given on the Friday evening by Gianfranco Cresciani, the most well known and prestigious scholar of Italian migration to Australia. He has conducted a wealth of research on Italians in Australia, and has published numerous books and articles on the subject. In the 1980s he compiled an acclaimed six-part ABC programme "The Italians". In September this year his new book The Italians in Australia was published by Cambridge University Press. The Conference will also be an opportunity for him to present his new work to South Australians.

Full details of the programme, together with the registration form, are available as a pdf file on the Program and Registration link of this website. The form can be downloaded, completed and posted or faxed to:
