MC LAREN VALE WINERY TOUR (cost AUD$40 per person) to be paid for on the 'Registration and Payment form' in advance.
 
Friday, 9th July 2004
12.30 pm depart Flinders University
 
1.15 pm Woodstock Winery and Coterie - lunch and chance to taste from cellar
door

2.45 pm Wirra Wirra Vineyards - one of the larger more well known producers in McLaren Vale. Situated on a gum-studded property overlooking a creek and their Scrubby Rise vineyard, the ironstone, rustic cellar door welcomes the visitor to a large range of fine wines, produced from selected parcels of high-quality grapes.

3.30 pm Hugo Wines - smaller is better in this award winning cellar door and
winery established by husband and wife team, John and Liz Hugo in 1982 .
With some vineyards up to 50 years old, Hugo's only use estate grown
grapes to produce a fine range of red and white table wines which are only
sold through cellar door, restaurants and specialist wine retailers.
 
4.15 pm Kangarilla Road Vineyard & Winery - another small premium producer,
with an attractive cellar door in the winery that affords great views across
the vineyards to the hills and vales of McLaren Flat. Dedicated to making
interesting wines that reflect the Regions chacteristics, Kangarilla Road
has  earnt an excellent reputation. One of the few producers in Australia of
the Califorian variety, Zinfandel which becomes a spicy red wine, delicious
and different.

 
5.00 pm Depart the Region to drop off points at Flinders University or one of the three nominated hotels.
