Plants
Plants may be a useful addition to the classroom both aesthetically
and environmentally. They can create a more "homely" feel to a classroom,
but more importantly are known to reduce toxins in the air resulting in
a cleaner environment (Tracy, 2000). This may help to purify a classroom
and in some classrooms (particularly those with younger students) this
may be essential.
By creating a regular watering and caring program for the
plants, all students can become involved, develop responsibility and learn
to co-operate with others towards a common goal.
