and isolated students in the state. The school can transmit in an
area of approximately 1600 miles radius. The Radio has been the backbone
of communication since the school commenced operation in 1958.

Computers
Computers and modems are issued to students of the Air
so that they have access to all the features of the Internet.
Families must have a generator so that children are able
to use the computers.
There is a small local area network set up at the School
of the Air by ISDN link so that teachers have access to Internet conferencing
programs such as Netmeeting.

Mail
Each family has a pigeon hole at the school. The
mail is collected once a week from the school by a courier and taken to
the local post office and then distributed to students by either truck,
tourist bus or aircraft. When the students have completed their work
it is returned via the same channel.
