Introduction
Do you understand the workings of a child's mind? Do you know how quickly they develop, and through what stages they pass as their development occurs? Do you wish that you could predict what your child, or class is about to do next? What do children really think of Sesame Street's character 'Grover'? Although we can't answer the last two questions, we hope to answer the first few, and others you may have about the way that children develop.

This website is based on the mental development of children. It focuses on Jean Piaget's theory, the different stages of childhood development according to this theory, and what this means for educators.

We have included links to other sites, and some background notes on Piaget's life and his research.
