Agnès Hafez-Ergaut

Agnès Hafez-Ergaut has been teaching French language and literature at the University of Tasmania since 1998. Her interests lie in the 20th century French and Francophone literatures, specifically French-Canadian and Maghrebian literatures as well as Louis-Ferdinand Céline’s works. She has published several articles in Australia, Canada and Belgium and she is also the author of a novel. Her PhD thesis, dealing with the notions of the sordid and nihilism in the works of Huysmans, Céline and Sartre, is entitled Le vertige du vide and was published in 2000.

Alfredo Martinez


Alfredo Martinez works as a Reader in Spanish at the University of Queensland. On the topic of gay literature and film in contemporary Spain, he has published numerous articles and three books, including "Los Escribas Furiosos" (New Orleans, 1998) and "Escrituras Torcidas" (Barcelona, 2004). He is currently involved in an international project on the representation of the male body in contemporary Spanish film. His other research interests have to do with avant-garde literature and language policy in the Spanish-speaking world.

Antonia Rubino

Antonia Rubino is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Italian Studies at the University of Sydney. Her research interests include multilingualism, language contact and language teaching methodology. She has published widely on trilingualism in the Italo-Australian community.
