Dear Delegates,
The following will provide you with information about 3 hotels, which offer 3 different rates. We suggest you book into one of these for the conference as they are closest to Flinders University. Once we know which hotels delegates have booked into we will provide appropriate public transport information. The dinner, which will be held on Thursday, 8th July, will be held at the first hotel (The Stamford Grand), which is on the beachfront.
When you send your registration form, please indicate which hotel you have booked into.
A wine tour will be offered for the afternoon of Friday, 9th July. Information about the wine tour will be placed as a link on the above website.
If you book 5 nights, it will allow you to enjoy some sightseeing in Adelaide over the weekend. In this case you may consider a weekend visit to Kangaroo Island, departing Adelaide Saturday morning 10th July. Any tourist arrangements (other than the wine tour) will be made by delegates themselves.
Stamford Grand Hotel (Glenelg)
This 5-star hotel is located on absolute beach frontage, is only 10 minutes from Adelaide airport and 10 minutes from Flinders University. The hotel is alongside Jetty Road entertainment, cafes, shops, restaurants and tram to the city. It is advisable to book early to obtain the cheapest rates. Rooms are currently $180 per City View room per night, $210 per Ocean View room per night. There are currently 2 City View rooms available at $130, and 4 Ocean View rooms at $160. These rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Please quote the booking no. 15857 for the conference. This will enable you to book the above ‘government rates', and please mention in your email that it is the Flinders University AILASA Conference. If your arrival date is Tuesday 6th July, the conference commences on the morning of the 7th July and will finish Friday midday 9th July.

The Haven Marina Inn (Glenelg North)
This hotel is located at 6-10 Adelphi Terrace, Glenelg North, is 7 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from Flinders University. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk to the beach, close to the Jetty Road entertainment, cafes, shops, restaurants and tram to the city. Many of the rooms have marina views. The government rate per room is $96 for one or two people, and $15 for an extra person.

Tonsley Hotel Motel (Clovelly Park)
This hotel is located at 1274 South Road, Clovelly Park, 5 minutes from Flinders University. Only 17 rooms are available at this hotel/motel, so early bookings are recommended. Single rooms are $85, double rooms $95 and 3-person rooms $110. Please mention the AILASA Conference, Flinders University when making the booking. It is important to note that the Tonsley requires a deposit equivalent to the first night's accommodation to be paid before 23rd June 2004. The deposit can be paid either by cheque, or by sending an email and supplying your credit card details
