Day Tour

Monday 6th July 2009
9.30am - 5.30pm   Departing from the Adelaide Riviera Hotel, North Tce, Adelaide.

South Australia is rich in the arts, well known for its culture and famous for its wines. The day tour we have organised has a unique blend of all three areas for our delegates to experience … and more.

Book for the tour on the registration form – cost is only $80.00.

x The tour will begin with a visit to Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary to see native Australian animals in their natural habitat and have an opportunity to get close to the animals at an interactive educational animal show. A leisurely stroll along the boardwalks, around the sanctuary wetlands and into the rainforest will give you a glimpse of koalas in gum trees, kangaroos and wallabies in the Australian bush setting, freshwater fish, turtles and frogs in the waterways and also a chance to see and hear many native bird species.
x
The Lane Vineyard will be our next stop for lunch and  enjoy great wines, stunning views and superb food. Here we can take in the beautiful setting of the Adelaide Hills region and experience the relaxing South Australian culture.

xA visit to the house and studio of famous Australian landscape artist Sir Hans Heysen is an experience to savour. Here we will see the historic working studio of the artist and a collection of paintings and drawings and his gracious old home called The Cedars. A walk through the rambling cottage garden directs visitors to favourite painting sites used by the artist.

xAnd finally we will end our tour with another wine-tasting experience at the Hahndorf Hill Winery. This boutique winery has been rated as a 5-star winery in the 2009 James Halliday Wine Companion. The beautiful vineyard and cellar door situated in the lush Adelaide Hills will be a sensational experience for your senses.
