This cross-disciplinary conference will encompass a wide range of papers on Greek and Cypriot studies from the wider spectrum of the following areas: Literature and Language, Classical Studies, Philosophy, Society and Culture, History and Migration. The conference will also feature a Youth Forum exploring the experiences of youth in the Greek diaspora.

CALL FOR PAPERS UPDATE, Jan 2009. The conference organisers have received many excellent abstracts, and also many requests to extend the Call for Papers deadline. The committee has therefore decided to extend the abstract submission deadline to 26 February, 2009.
PRESENTATIONS: 20 minute papers will be presented followed by 10 minutes discussion time at the end of each session.
PROGRAM: Parallel sessions and panel discussions will be scheduled over 4 days and papers will be grouped according to the area of research. Professional Development Seminars will be held for teachers of Modern Greek and teachers of Philosophy.
PUBLIC EVENTS: An exciting array of public lectures, book launches, seminars and cultural events will be presented in June - July 2009.

REGISTRATION: Early registration fee is $AUD 165.00 and ends 31st May, 2009 (approx 100 EUR, July ‘08 conversion rate). Standard registration fee is $AUD 220.00 (approx 135 EUR). Concession/unwaged student fee is $AUD 75.00 (approx 45 EUR). The conference dinner, cultural event, day tour and accommodation are not included in registration.
