Title Greek Settlement in the Riverland

Over the last five years I am conducting ongoing research on the settlement of the Greek migrants in the Riverland area and am examining the development of this settlement regarding a number of people first, second and third generation, and also the establishment of key social and cultural institutions. Some findings have already been published in the Proceedings of the 2007 conference. In this paper I will focus on the establishment of the soccer clubs, the Greek rural and social Council of South Australia (later renamed the Riverland Growers Unity Association), the creation and development of the Greek education programs in the government and afternoon schools and finally the creation of the Association of the Greek Ageing People of Riverland.
